FACEBOOK® AND INVISIBLE CHILDREN

This year's Schools for Schools program has a lot of new features, including a chance to stay connected through Facebook®. One of the best parts of the program is the ability to connect to students at your school and around the globe by sharing ideas, tracking the money, and seeing what events are coming up near you. Last semester, so many schools were connecting through their Facebook profiles - sending out notes, messages, changing their status, etc - that we thought we'd go to where all the action is anyway.

The great thing about the new Facebook application is the ability to recruit your friends. Unlike the old Schools for Schools site, you'll have the chance to tell your hundreds (maybe thousands?) of Facebook friends that you are helping to rebuild schools in northern Uganda. We'll upload videos from your partner schools, creative ideas, news feeds, and the real-time results into your Facebook. Spreading the word while stalking your friends - it's a win-win situation.

If you aren't into the whole social networking thing, feel free to use this site and be a "supporter" for your school. You will be notified on the progress made, and you can find out info about your partner school in Uganda. But just so you know, the Facebook® Application is where the true activity will be taking place.
